Nikon signs deal to remain The Open Championship patron until 2017

Nikon has signed a deal to remain a patron of The Open Championship for another five years.

The deal has been agreed with The R&A, organisers of the oldest major golf tournament.

Takami Tsuchida, president of Nikon Europe B.V, said: “The Open Championship is one of Nikon’s most significant global sponsorships, and we are delighted to be able to extend our association for another five years.

“We have established a strong brand presence over the years and are delighted that our core values continue to resonate through our support of The Open Championship which is the most prestigious golf tournament in the world.”

Michael Tate, The R&A’s executive director of business affairs, added: “We are delighted to have renewed our partnership with Nikon for the next five years. We have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship for more than 30 years and their devotion to quality and innovation aligns perfectly with the values of The Open.”
