Barclays has agreed a new three-year deal worth £40m-a-year to continue sponsoring the Premier League for a further three seasons.

The new deal runs from the 2013/14 to the end of the 2015/16 season.

The agreement includes the global title sponsorship of the Premier League and exclusive worldwide marketing rights, UK and international TV programme accreditation, extensive advertising rights, match day tickets and hospitality as well as joint community activity.

Barclays and the Premier League will continue to run their Barclays Asia Trophy tournament and the Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour.

The announcement of the new deal comes just a week after Barclays was fined $435m by US and UK regulators for making false reports of its borrowing costs from 2005 to 2009.
