A 3D movie app has been released by 3D solutions company DDD Group for Sumsung Smart TVs to enable viewers to download 3D movies.

The Yabazam movie app has gone live today, allowing viewers to download a stream of 3D movie trailers to their Samsung Smart TVs, with full length 3D movies being made availe for a pay-per-view fee later in July.

The new app has expanded the online portal Yabazam, which launched in late 2009, offering high definition 3D movies, to allow access through TV sets for the first time.

Chris Yewdall, CEO of DDD, said: "Samsung leads the market in 3D TVs and we welcome the opportunity to provide their viewers with compelling 3D content. Yabazam is proving to be a popular Smart TV app in these early days of 3D TV adoption, as it greatly increases the availability of 3D content in the home."

The range of 3D movies available on Yabazam includes "UYUYUI!" from Timbo Estudio, the Safety Geeks SVI series, the Curse of Skull Rock and Rio de Janeiro Carnival.
