Aamer Anwar, former legal representative for Tommy Sheridan, who successfully helped him sue the News of the World in a defamation suit, and who also led an independent investigation into the practices of the News of the World, alongside MP Tom Watson, defends his decision to take up writing a column for the Sun on Sunday.

Speaking after The Drum's recent Leveson Debate on the impact that the inquiry could have on Scottish Media, Anwar defended his cotnroversial decision to work for News International, a company he has been highly vocal in condemning in the past, (see video above).

Anwar's full address at the debate can be read here - where he is highly critical of the current PCC's route of recourse for those targetted by newspapers.
