Pringles showed its support for Armed Forces Day in a campaign by encouraging members of the public to send tweets and Facebook messages saying thank you, as well as filming their personal tributes in a giant Pringles can.

The four-metre tall Pringles can, created by Arc London and unveiled at an Armed Forces Day event at Plymouth Hoe on Saturday, let guests film personal messages of thanks to be uploaded to the Armed Forces website.

Will Glynn-Jones, client services director at Arc London, said: “Armed Forces Day is a chance for us to think about how grateful we are to the hard work these people do, and how they make us proud of Britain. This event we’ve created for Pringles brings their support to life in a way that engages families and will put a smile on the faces of everyone involved.”

The public was encouraged to retweet the message ‘I’m saying thank you on #ArmedForcesDay. RT to show your support and set a world record.’ on 30 June.

Ten thousand free cans of Pringles were also be distributed on the day to mark the launch of a limited edition Union Jack can, which will be available in stores throughout the summer.
