O2 has today announced the appointment of Tribal DDB to handle an online redesign for the company, in order to create a whole new digital experience.

Tribal DDB won the account following a pitch against seven other agencies, but VCCP will continue to be O2’s primary agency for digital marketing campaigns.

Lance Haswell, head of online at O2, said: “At O2 we are proud to provide our customers with a highly innovative digital experience, however and wherever they visit us. We are committed to a progressive and cutting-edge approach to our digital offering, and are delighted that Tribal DDB shares our ambition for a future-proof, best in class experience. They are a talented team that bring to the table some award winning experiences with big name brands like Volkswagen and Guinness.”

Part of the brief is to rebuild the O2 website, as well as its tablet and mobile versions.

Tom Roberts, managing director at Tribal DDB, added: “Working across all digital properties for O2, Tribal DDB will ensure the brand stays ahead of its competitors, and delivers the world class digital experience its customers have grown to expect.”
