Virgin Atlantic appoints new marketing director

Virgin Atlantic has announced that Simon Lloyd will be joining the airline as marketing director from July 10 2012.

Julie Southern, chief commercial officer, Virgin Atlantic, said “I am delighted to welcome Simon to this key position at Virgin Atlantic.

“I am confident that he will be able to build on our creative marketing strengths and take the airline forward when he joins us in July”

Virgin Airlines is one of the biggest brands in the world today and prides itself at being at the forefront of creative and innovative marketing.

Lloyd joins Virgin with a strong background of marketing experience; his most recent role was with the BBC as director of media engagement. Prior to working with the BBC he has held senior marketing and commercial positions at Palm, 118118 and Nokia.

Speaking of his appointment with the iconic brand Lloyd commented, “I’m really looking forward to building on the incredible success of the airline and taking its marketing activity forward not only in the UK, but all around the world.”
