Wayne Rooney unveils official website with Lightmaker

Wayne Rooney has unveiled his first official website, created by Lightmaker, to serve as a media hub for his fan base.

Rooney’s management service, Triple S Sports & Entertainment, appointed Lightmaker to create a media presence for the footballer, consolidating Rooney’s digital activity and serving as a portal for all his social media feeds including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

George Anger, managing director at Lightmaker, said: “Lightmaker is honoured to have been chosen by Wayne as his agency of record. We collaborated closely with him throughout the build process to produce a responsive site that Wayne’s fans can enjoy wherever they are and on any device. As ever Wayne remains 100% committed to his fans and our solution harmonises his social feeds into one place, giving them easy and fast access to this sporting legend.”

The site was designed to incorporate a backdrop for his partnerships with Manchester United, Nike and Harper Collins, while also allowing for new sponsorship opportunities.

Rooney said: “I hope it will help bring me and my fans even closer together. It’s great that there will be one place where all my social networking sites come together.

“I want it to be the place where my fans and partners can see what’s really happening in my world. There will be some big things happening on the site to mark the 10th anniversary of my Premier League debut on 17 August and lots more to come after that…”
