Microsoft to release second screen experience Xbox SmartGlass connecting tablets and smartphones to Xbox 360
Microsoft is to enable communications between Tablets and smartphones and video game consoles through the launch of the Xbox SmartGlass service.
Announced last night at E3 in Los Angeles, Microsoft has created the Xbox SmartGlass second screen service to allow games to be controlled through touch devices.
The service, set to be launched later this year, also allows handheld devices to act as controllers for Microsoft’s web browser Internet Explorer.
The device will also aim to enhance the TV viewing experience, offering additional content and information to viewers, added Marc Whitten, head of Xbox Live, during his keynote speech.
