A campaign to promote Tennent’s newly launched Original Export has been rolled out, once again featuring the company’s founder Hugh Tennent and his trusted sidekick Barnes.

Created by long-standing ad agency Newhaven, the latest campaign sees the duo travel the world only to discover Original Export on the way.

Packaging for Original Export includes design from illustrator Steven Bonner, with the brand’s T incorporating classic architecture such as the Forth Rail Bridge, Charles Rennie Macintosh designs and modern buildings such as the Armadillo in Glasgow.

Steve Annand, commercial managing director of Tennent Caledonian, commented: ‘We’re delighted to be celebrating the launch of Tennent’s Original Export in Scotland this morning. This is another exciting new product from Tennent’s, a premium lager that is made right here in Glasgow with the best Scottish ingredients but one that also has an incredible global heritage at its core.

“From the distinctive logo designed to showcase some of the great Scottish achievements of our age, to our new advert and of course our spectacular crate, we’re hoping to have a lot of fun taking Tennent’s Original Export out to Scottish drinkers over the summer, making them proud that the local brew that has done so well over the years across the globe is now available at home.”

Supporting the TV campaign is poster activity playing on the names of sites around Glasgow and their similarity to names around the world (see gallery).
