Stand named as Design Consultancy of the Year at 2012 Scottish Design Awards

Glasgow design agency Stand has been named as this year's Scottish Design Consultancy of the Year at the Scottish Design Awards.

Stand also picked up prizes for Glasgow School of Art Prospectus in the Publications Category, and for Branding for the Royal Constervatoire of Scotland.

Winner of the Grand Prix was Three Brand for American Dry Gin and Beach Plum Gin Liqueur, which also won in the packaging category, alongside KGVD for Bubble Betty.

The Chairman's award, decided by The Design Bridge's Glenn Tutssel, went to Tayburn for the Lynn Forsyth Mailer, which also won in the DM category.

Whitespace won the App award for its St Andrew's Day Mobile app, developed for The Scottish Government, and Hampton Associates won in the Use of Visual Design Category for Brew Dog's Beer for Punks. Another award went to KGVD in Craft for That's Impressive for client Glasgow Press, while Suisse won in the Exhibition/Point of Sale category with 'High Street' for Architecture and Design Scotland.

Two awards were presented in the Item of Self Promotion Category - to O Street and Suisse, with another award going to Tayburn, this time in the Promotional Literature category with work for Historic Scotland.

A poster designed for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra was also presented to Glad and Blood Creative won the Stationary prize, designed for Pete Whitson.

The Yard's annual report saw Tayburn win another gong, this time in the Corporate Literature/Annual Report section and Contagious won in the Publications section with work for Chivas entitled 'Crafted for the senses.

Sponsors included Historic Scotland, Burro Happold, Kiltr, Elmwood and bre.
