McVitie’s, the United Biscuit brand, has been announced as the sponsor of the Tea Garden area of the Diamond Jubilee Festival in Battersea Park.

Samples of McVitie's cake and biscuits will be available, as well as Paul Courtney, McVitie's head chef for cake design and development, being one of the judges for the competition to build the world's tallest cake.

McVitie's has also sponsored a boat as part of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant which will sail past Battersea Park, led by the Queen and involving one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river. The boat was originally called the John and Frances MacFarlane and was an RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) lifeboat dating back to 1960.
