The Co-operative has unveiled a free app with Refinery Marketing Communications, working in conjunction with Salford based creative production studio Mi.

The app, called The Pollinator and available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, features a superhero bee sent back from the future to save bees from extinction.

Players can share their scores through Facebook and Twitter and compete to see who can save the most bees.

Joe Bowler, Refinery director, said: “The Co-operative approached us to create an app for Plan Bee to help build awareness of the issues facing honey bees and other pollinators and to complement the work Refinery has done on this project.

”The game gets an important message across in a fun way and will spread among core target audiences through social channels.”
