Arts and crafts specialist Hobbycraft has appointed Euro RSCG PR to handles it PR account.

Following a four-way-pitch, the agency has been briefed with reporting to the company’s marketing team, as well as its CEO Catriona Marshall, with 14 stores planned to open this year, adding to the existing 62 based across the UK.

10 stores are also scheduled to undergo a refurbishment programme, with the new Hobbycraft branding set to be introduced across all stores as part of a three-year-plan.

“We are redesigning our stores to be much more vibrant and friendly and to have much wider appeal,” explained Marshall.

“We want to engage with families and inspire them to try out new crafts, and Euro demonstrated that they clearly understand our audience and the sector we are in.”

An account team of six, led by managing director Brian Beech in Manchester will work on the account, alongside a national PR team, led by consumer managing director, Jo Grierson in London.

The Euro account team of six will see the Local Marketing team led by Brian Beech, MD, out of Manchester and the National PR team led by Jo Grierson, Consumer MD, out of London.

Beech said: “Hobbycraft is a fantastic addition to our retail client portfolio. The team has been on its induction already and learnt how to make everything from jewellery to cupcakes to bunting for the Diamond Jubilee.

”Creating an element of theatre in store is what we do for clients, making the shopping experience an exciting, enjoyable and interactive one for customers. And while we will be building the brand at a local level, Jo and her team will give it a national voice.”
