Aston Villa fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with manager Alex McLeish by taking out an advert in their local paper.

Villa supporters group 'My Old Man Said' paid £600 to have the ad placed alongside the sport coverage on the back page of Saturday's Birmingham Mail.

The ad reads: "We were really hoping never to say this but... WE TOLD YOU SO. 'Bright future?'"

It is understood that, despite the paper enjoying a good relationship with the club, it had little choice but to run the advert because it is not considered offensive.
