There’s now only one month until the Dadi entry deadline and since you will be starting to think about what you will be entering, we thought you would like to hear from another one of our judges.

Each Friday in the run up to the entry deadline on 1 June, we’ll send you a judges Q&A, last week it was Justin Cooke (founder of Fortune Cookie) and this week it’s Martin Talks president of digital at Draft FCB.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

From Twitter to TV, the radio to conversations. There's inspiration everywhere for the open mind.

What is it about digital that excites you so much?

The pace of change. And that pace is not slowing but increasing exponentially. Every day I feel I am learning new things.

For you, what’s the most exciting development in digital?

The battle between Man and Machine. With the exponential growth in computer power comes newer and more powerful technology that gives us greater and greater capabilities as marketers. But at the same time it is the human touch that can have the biggest resonance with our audiences. It's the caveman vs the computer.

Where do you see the digital industry progressing to in five years’ time?

There will be a clearer division between the automated elements of marketing and the creative elements. Much of what we do as marketers will be automated. But the value of true creative thinking will be higher.

Why did you agree to judge the Dadi awards this year?

To be inspired.

For you, what makes and award winning digital strategy?

Solving a real problem in a creative way using digital.

The Dadis - Drum Awards for the Digital Industries - this year sponsored by Monotype Imaging and adnetik, recognise and reward digital excellence and are open to any business, including agencies and clients, who are producing effective digital strategies.
