Facebook game I AM PLAYR reaches 1 million monthly active users

I AM PLAYR, the social football game developed by We R Interactive, has reached 1 million monthly active users.

The game, which launched on October last year, and was nominated for a BAFTA video game award, is averaging an increase of 100,000 users a week during April alone, the agency has claimed.

David Rose, CEO at We R Interactive commented, “Our aim is for I AM PLAYR to be the world’s biggest, most authentic online football game and to have reached this milestone and be able to stake our claim as the biggest Facebook Unity game just six months since launch is a pretty incredible achievement. Fuelling further growth, development of the mobile version of I AM PLAYR is well underway in preparation for the Euros 2012.”

Steve Didd, executive producer at We R Interactive added, “Unity lends itself really well to the kind of fast iterative development we need for I AM PLAYR where we are constantly creating new content and incorporating user feedback; and the level of personalisation we can achieve through leveraging the social graph is a key part of the game’s success formula.”
