The Eword, Manchester search marking agency, has claimed a record first period, having brought in 15 contracts worth a total value of £525,000 a year, including work with Parasol Group and Civil Society Media.

The agency has taken on six new members of staff to help it tackle the work load from the new accounts, which includes the appointment by news site Civil Society to handle its SEO and with employment company Parasol Group, for which the agency has been appointed to run an SEO campaign.

Al Mackin, CEO at theEword, commented: "In an uncertain climate the team at theEword has worked extremely hard to grow the business, and 2012 has so far been a record year. Our clients turn to us because of our honest and hard work – our award nominations and campaign successes show that we can have a significant impact on businesses large and small."
