Former Northcliffe advertising director Arthur seconded to same post within Newsquest Herald & Evening Times

Newsquest Herald & Evening Times has seconded its head of development Julia Arthur to take on the role of advertising director.

Arthur, former advertising director for Northcliffe Media, takes on the role from 8 May and is expected to fill the post for up to a year, with industry speculation reaching The Drum that she may be training up a future successor in the role.

Arthur will take on the post from Sean Duffy, who left to join ScotRail as commercial director last year.

She has held the role of group head of training and development at the Glasgow-based publisher since 2006.

Earlier today, The Drum reported that Newsquest Herald & Evening Times was recruiting for a new digital venture.
