Overseas development agency CARE International is on the hunt for digital agencies to take part in its fourth CARE New Media Adventure Challenge.

Supported by The Drum, the event will challenge teams from the across the digital industry to cover a marathon on foot, bike and canoe across clifftops, heathland, forest and beaches.

It will take place on the scenic Purbeck peninsula in Dorset on 22 September and the money raised will go towards CARE's life-saving work across 84 countries. The charity helps 122 million people out of poverty each year.

CARE challenge manager Neil Munro said: "This is a great teambuilding and networking opportunity for a great cause. Teams will train, fundraise and complete the challenge together and there's a huge sense of achievement- not least because the funds raised will support CARE's essential work overseas.

"Over the last three years, teams from the digital media industry have raised over £64,000 for CARE. This is fantastic, and we’re confident the support of The Drum as our new media partner will ensure the 2012 challenge is a huge success. Enormous thanks to The Drum for their support."

The CARE New Media Challenge is also supported by IAB, the trade association for online advertising.
