A new agency has risen from the ashes of the government's defunct marketing agency the COI.

Syndicate Communications, based in Birmingham, has been formed by ex-COI regional director Anthony Aston and Mark Chambers.

Supported by a team of around 20 former COI staff dotted around England, the new agency will replicate the work of the COI's regional network.

It will have "an office and staff in every single region" to deliver regional campaigns for government, voluntary and private sector organisations.

Aston said: “The COI regional network had a good reputation with clients for delivering good value for money regional campaigns and this is something we are looking to carry on at Syndicate.

“Both Mark and I have a great depth of experience in managing cross-regional campaigns. I’ve managed large national campaigns for the Department of Health and Mark has managed accounts for some of COI’s most important and valuable clients including UK Trade &Investment and the Office of Fair Trading.”
