Edinburgh Napier University is making a key investment in the use of online video for recruitment and promotion and has awarded the project to Edinburgh-based digital agency Heehaw Digital, which has been tasked with producing 24 online videos to help communicate the richness of the student experience at the University.

Rising Star Steven Brown becomes latest appointment at Heehaw Digital

The £40,000 project aims to use online video to promote undergraduate and postgraduate study, the international student experience, the alumni experience and student life in general.

Heehaw Digital’s production team on the project will be run by two graduates of Edinburgh Napier University. Mally Graveson, Heehaw’s founder and director of productions, graduated from Edinburgh Napier with a BSc in Social and Management Studies in 1997 and head of productions Toby Trueman graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a BA in Photography and Film in 2005.

On the project, Heehaw founding partner Mally Graveson said, “We all love working with the team at Edinburgh Napier University and to win a contract of this size allows us to continue to work with brilliant people. It’s great to see one of the UK’s leading universities so confidently adopting online video into their communications strategy. We think it is hands down the most cost effective, exciting and flexible medium for getting your message across.”

Leanne Mabberley, Assistant Director (Marketing, Brand and Communications) at Edinburgh Napier University said: “Choosing a University is a huge decision so films really bring the Edinburgh Napier University experience to life. Young people are very switched on and want to know what they will be getting for their investment so seeing the facilities and hearing from students and staff is really important. Heehaw really understood our audience and brand, so we’re expecting the films to be key tools in our marketing.”

Heehaw recently boosted its creative team with the appointment of Steven Brown, a rising star from this year’s crop of new designers at Telford College. Brown joins Heehaw on a permanent basis as junior designer and has already managed to pick up a Star Creative Student Award at the Marketing Society Star Awards 2012 and a D&AD student nomination in the Installation Design category.

Heehaw Digital is a member of MiNetwork, the UK-wide membership organisation that supports and helps ambitious marketing agencies to raise their profile and get noticed.
