Facebook has announced that the Preferred Developer Consultant (PDC) and Marketing API (MAP) programs have been combined to create the Preferred Marketing Developer program.

The social media giant said in a blog post that ‘the goal of the PMD program is to bring developers to the right clients and make it possible for any brand or company to find consultants who can work with them to build comprehensive Facebook campaigns and presences.’

The first new class of PMDs includes 141 companies from 20 countries that were not previously represented in the PDC or MAP programs, meaning that there are now 232 Preferred Marketing Developers headquartered in 35 countries.

Some accredited PMDs in the UK include One iota, the first Preferred Marketing Developer based outside of London, and TBG Digital.

Richard Anson, founder of Reevoo – one of the newly accredited agencies- said: “We are delighted to be part of Facebook’s Preferred Marketing Developer Program. Our customers across multiple verticals such as retail, travel and auto are already seeing significant, measurable benefits from social commerce.

“Partnering with Facebook enables Reevoo to extend those benefits further by providing relevant tools and services that access the social graph and by providing deeper insights of our customers’ consumers.”
