Apposing, a mobile-app studio, have announced the development of a free iPhone app targeted at an expected quarter of a million people who are predicted to flock to Liverpool this weekend to participate in the Sea Odyssey event.

Designed by Black & Ginger the app will allow tourists and locals to make the most of the three day event which will see three ‘giants’ emerge from the River Mersey before winding their way around the city - intended to mark the centenary of the Titanic disaster.

The app will give users GPS coordinates of a giant girl as she wends her way around town, ensuring people can bag the best seats and snaps – which can be instantly shared via social media.

Apposing managing director, Dave Brown said: “The event will pass the Titanic story and its ties with Liverpool to another generation and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of it. ‘Sea Odyssey’ has captured the imagination of the nation, hundreds of thousands of people will witness something they’ll probably never see again.

“Our app will help users to get the most out of the spectacle and the city, while allowing people to share their experiences in a unique way.”
