Mexican advert depicting children as criminals sparks controversy
A Mexican campaign video intended to convince presidential candidates in upcoming Mexican elections has backfired following outrage at the ‘cynical ploy’ of making children play as criminals.
In the video a group of children can be seen play acting the role of kidnappers, corrupt police and drug traffickers – intended to highlight the spiralling instances of violence in the crime racked country.
The hard hitting clip was financed by an organization called Our Mexico of the Future, founded by the insurance firm Grupo Nacional Provinical.
