Nicki Minaj took over Times Square at the launch of the Nokia Lumia 900, with Nokia taking over none of the electronic screens in the square to ensure maximum coverage.

All of the electronic screens were controlled from a mobile server that was fed by eight miles of cable spread over four square blocks of the city.

A clock in the square counted down to the launch, before Minaj sang a medley of tracks from her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

The event was handled by public relations firm Mission.
