Cedar Communications has appointed Eve Williams as its managing director following a restructure that will include the creation of an executive board.

Williams, who joined the agency, which has offices in London, Shanghai, Cape Town and Johannesburg, in 2007 as an account executive has been promoted to the newly created role, and will report to CEO Clare Broadbent.

Other promotions to the Management Leadership Team include editorial director Maureen Rice, who previously oversaw all Tesco publications, will become editor-in-chief, while Jame Mastin, international client services director will join the senior team, and group account director Karen Huxley will now represent British Airways.

Of William’s promotion, Broadbent said; “Eve is the future of Cedar. She has demonstrated tremendous ability in the five years she has been with us and has lead the team that has driven Tesco Magazine with its 7.097 million readers to be the widest read consumer magazine in the country. Cedar is driven by Big Ideas, Smart Content and Commercial Success and so is Eve. She has a natural ability to help our clients recognise, and realise the value of their owned and earned media.”

“Cedar has seen two years of double digit growth despite the recession,” commented Williams. “We have expanded our international network, mastered new content channels, brought on many new clients and expanded our in-house expertise on every level. Cedar is an exciting place to be with a unique commercial offering that is proving attractive to a growing number of partner companies. I am excited about the upcoming plans we have for both our clients and Cedar, across all our offices in UK, China and South Africa.”
