Search giant Google has unveiled a prototype version of its long mooted set of hi-tech specs, dubbed Project Glass.

Differing from your average set in Specsavers this futuristic headware is designed to revolutionise the way we see the world.

Adopting augmented reality technology the device overlays a series of Terminator style icons and graphics upon the wearers field of view, giving useful information such as the weather forecast or the nearest chippy.

Explaining their design a group of Google said: “A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.

“We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do.”

Anyone gagging to don a pair are in for a disappointment however, at present there is no official release date.
