Ecommerce provider Chapter Eight has become the first such provider to be accepted as a Visa merchant Agent by the credit firm.

The move means that Chapter Eight joins a select band of website payments providers who will be able to accept payments from Visa issued credit and debit cards from next year.

Chapter Eight made the grade following a vetting process by Visa, which found that they met strict standards on security and card details.

The list was devised as a means to cut down on fraudulent online transactions and encourage online retailers to improve their data risk management procedures – or face losing the ability to process Visa payments.

Mario Thomas, Managing Director of Chapter Eight, said: “Our recognition as the first Visa Merchant Agent is a great achievement for the company. We offer enterprise-wide security standards that ensure a robust approach to payment card data protection covering our entire systems and processes.”

Chapter Eight is a RAR recommended company based in Leeds and London with a portfolio that includes Coca Cola, gulf Oil and Sock Shop.
