James Murdoch steps down as BSkyB chairman
James Murdoch has stepped down from his role of chairman as BSkyB, with immediate effect.
This follows allegations of phone hacking, with a report by the report by the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee to be released at the end of the month, and it has been suggested that the younger Murdoch decided to leave before he was forced out.
Nick Ferguson, presently deputy chairman, will become chairman of BSkyB, although this move could be temporary.
It is not known if James Murdoch will stay on the board.
