Quaker Oats figurehead diets for rebrand

'Larry', the chubby Quaker Oats figurehead, has been put on a crash diet by his creators, PepsiCo Inc, as part of a rebrand of the popular oatmeal line.

It has seen the character, known as ‘Larry’, shed five pounds - losing his double chin and gaining a new logo in the process to highlight the products healthy credentials.

The subtle process of touching up also gave the man broader shoulders and a haircut, Larrys first since 1922.

Changes aren’t confined to Larry either, his white backdrop has been supplanted by a two tone red background to impart a sense of movement.
