Spotify has donned the crown for the best quality of user experience in a poll conducted by the IPA into online media owners in which 83.5% of respondents agreed with the statement: “My overall experience of dealing with this supplier is a good one.”

It is the first time that a new entrant has topped the list and the first time in three years that someone has usurped the incumbent, Specific media.

They slip to fourth place in the list with Tribal Fusion in second spot followed by AOL, Specific, Adjug, Glam Media and the Telegraph.

The most improved media owner since the autumn survey is Sky Digital Media which has risen 10.6%whilst at the other extreme IPC Media has fallen furthest, dropping 11.2%.

Says Nigel Gwilliam, Head of Digital, IPA, “The Spring 2012 survey is ringing in the changes with a new leader, a more competitive leading set and a number of resurgent online media owners.

“Spotify will rightly get the headlines but special mention should also go to other newcomers Adjug and Glam Media who are both in the top seven overall. It’s also great to see that Tribal Fusion and the Telegraph are both leading their fields; AOL are the most consistently improved performer; and that Microsoft and Sky have both turned around their performances.”
