An online portal offering an outsourced press office service for businesses has been launched by Tim Toulmin, former head of the Press Complaints Commission.

MyPressOffice.co.uk is aimed at organisations of all sizes who are keen to keep a lid on their PR budgets, offering one-off PR support such as writing and handling news releases to handling requests from journalists and strategising.

The portal can also act as a bolt on to an in-house team PR team at times of high demand.

Toulmin said: “There is a huge demand for cost-effective PR support from organisations that don’t have fully-equipped press offices.

“At MyPressOffice we have assembled a brilliant national network of experts – including former newspaper editors and directors of communications – who are on hand to advise clients on anything from getting good publicity to keeping out of the news.

“The key to its cost-effectiveness is that clients can dip in and out of our services as they are needed, with no need to pay a retainer.”

MpPressOffice will be based in Leeds and London with Press Association journalist David Moss-Blundell handling northern operations.
