Independence minded Scots rankled by having to type the letters ‘u’ and ‘k’ into their keyboards to access online government services will soon have an alternative address to call their own, .scot.

It comes after Prime Minister David Cameron released the .scot, .wales and .cymru addresses into the wild in a bid to satiate Nationalist demands.

The news hasn’t gone down well with Conservative MPs however, many of whom are angered by what they see as a “huge propaganda coup” to Salmond during his independence push.

Yorkshire MP Andrew Percy said: “Scotland hasn’t even voted yet on whether to go independent and all this is doing is giving First Minister Alex Salmond’s Nationalists a huge propaganda coup.”
