Food, farming and agri-business festival, The Royal Highland Show, has begun its search for a number of new sponsors.

The organisers of the event are searching for brands to take up a number of sponsorship opportunities to engage with business and consumer audiences.

The show, which takes place in Edinburgh from 21 – 24 June, attracts a varied audience of over 185,000 each year,

Over £400,000 worth of sponsorship has already been secured, including backing from Royal Bank of Scotland, Scotland Food & Drink, McDonalds, Scottish and Southern Energy and Vion.

Organisers are hoping that new VIP packages, offering improved opportunities to engage consumers and court opinion former, will attract other companies.

A £160,000 cross-channel integrated marketing campaign is also planned for this year’s event, running across TV, press, radio, PR and social media activity, while sponsors will also be given access to the event’s 170,000 strong database and 15,000 social media followers.

David Dunsmuir, show manager, said: “Last year we made the headlines for attracting more visitors than T-In-the-park. It seems that consumers do indeed prefer Bulls to Beyonce and the Royal Highland Show appeal is something that ambitious businesses can capitalise on."
