Dumfries & Galloway has unveiled a new tourism brand identity, created by Newcastle based Gardiner Richardson, to support its ‘Naturally Inspiring’ proposition.

The new identity, which is set to be rolled out next month, uses earthy colours with a leaf and a fish to symbolise the nature in the area.

Wilma Finlay, from Destination Dumfries & Galloway, said: “The tourism brand identity Gardiner Richardson crafted for Dumfries and Galloway has met with universal approval from the region's tourism industry.

“Crucially, the brand journey that Gardiner Richardson led us through has developed not only a brand, but also a deep understanding within industry of the process, as well as next steps. As a starting point for developing the region's profile as a rural tourism destination, this brand provides a foundation that is based on truths we recognise as a region, and which we can have confidence in using to communicate our offering to visitors.”

Darren Richardson, director at Gardiner Richardson, added: “We wanted to create an elegant identity, inspired by the destination of Dumfries & Galloway and reflecting the areas’ proud vision of ‘Naturally Inspiring’ visitors. Taking Destination Dumfries & Galloway on a journey to develop its new identity, our team have created a real sense of clarity and ownership in the region’s personality – fundamental in delivering any successful brand.”
