AKQA beats The Marketing Store in final of agency/student football tournament at Wembley

AKQA won an industry football tournament this weekend, held at Wembley, involving ad agency and advertising students.

The knockout tournament included players from Poke London, Inferno, Aqueduct, Elvis, AKQA, BD Network and WorkClub.

Student teams involved were representing Southampton Solent, Lincoln, Bucks University and UCA, although all were defeated and out of the tournament within the first few rounds, leaving that advertising agencies to fight for the winner’s trophy.

Results included a 3-2 defeat for The Cogs Agency by Elvis, while Poke London beat the final student team UCA 2-0, and Inferno, who started well with a 4-0 victory against BD Network, was knocked out by The Marketing Store, who won 1-0 and made it through to the final.

Also reaching the final was AKQA, who ultimately defeated The Marketing Store 2-1 BD Network in the meanwhile took home the plate for finishing in ninth position.

It is understood that the event raised around £3,000 which will towards the University for the Creative Arts graduation show in Shoreditch in May.
