Yves Saint Laurent appoints new creative director

Yves Saint Laurent has announced the appointment of Hedi Slimane as its new creative director.

Previously the artistic director of menswear at YSL until 2000, Slimane will hold creative control of brand image and all its collections.

Paul Deneve, chief executive officer at YSL, said: "Hedi Slimane's exceptional talent and understanding of the spirit of Yves Saint Laurent heralds a promising new chapter in the story of the maison.”
