Warner Brothers has signed a deal with The Continuity Company Düsseldorf which will The Looney Tunes used in a seven week customer loyalty promotion with German retail chain PENNY.

Customers will be rewarded with two free Looney Tunes collectible cards, featuring characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in sporting poses along with information on sports and nutrition, for every €15 they spend in-store, with 36 trading cards to collect.

The campaign launched yesterday and will run until 21 April in PENNY stores with a national marketing campaign, accompanied by branded banners, flyers, posters, ceiling hangers and POS material.

Bruno Schwobthaler, senior vice president of sales and business development for Warner Bros. consumer products EMEA, said: “We are very excited about this campaign and the opportunity to work with PENNY on such a comprehensive project.

“Endorsing a more active lifestyle for kids has been a key initiative for the Looney Tunes brand over the last few years and we hope that this promotion will replicate the successful Looney Tunes Active sports parties and school activities we have organised in Germany in the past. As a classic brand, The Looney Tunes are loved by kids and parents alike and their appeal to both boys and girls makes them the perfect fit for this promotion with PENNY.”

Martin Wiedersich, head of marketing at Penny Germany, added: “The Looney Tunes collecting card campaign will combine fun with learning about how to become more active. Additionally it will reward consumers for their loyalty, provide value for money and encourage families to return to the store to complete their collection.”
