Creative agency LOVE has appointed Jing Lien as general manager for its Asian operation.

Lien, who has held senior positions with IDEO, Wieden & Kennedy and TBWA in China, will work closely with the agency’s senior UK board member to build the team over the coming months and support its new business growth.

She will oversee the day-to-day running of the office in Shanghai, which has worked on projects for Diageo, Nike and sport retailer Pengda.

Chris Conlan, managing director of LOVE said: “This is our first hire for the China office and it was important for us to find someone with not only the requisite experience of delivering first class creative work for global clients, but also the right cultural fit with LOVE’s approach and values. Jing has just the skillset and outlook we were looking for and her extensive understanding of the Chinese market, coupled with her knowledge of global brands is very appealing to us.

“The plan over the next twelve months is to grow the team in Shanghai across all agency functions, whilst staying true to the approach that has helped LOVE build such strong relationships with its clients in Europe. To this end, we will be focussing on maintaining strong links between the teams in Manchester and Shanghai,” he added.
