Enders Analysis has found that UK cinema admissions in 2011 were up 1% from 2010, with box office receipts up 5% to just over £1bn.

However, box office receipts for 3D films fell, with Enders Analysis putting this down to ‘the success of British content and the rising share of 2D in 3D dual release box office receipts.’

In a blow to advertisers, however, it was found that screen advertising fell ‘sharply’ over the period.
