ITV has made two senior appointments to its Business Development (Nations & Regions) sales team.

Nik Wheatley joins as creative multiplatform controller and Max Brown becomes business development controller.

Both will be based in Manchester and will report to director of business development, Jason Spencer.

Wheatley was formerly strategy director at MPG London. He will be responsible for a dedicated team focusing on driving new revenue streams, working with agencies and advertisers outside of London.

Their work will span a range of commercial areas including sponsorship, online and mobile, activation, research and production.

Brown, formerly head of planning and development at Bauer Media, will be jointly responsible for Manchester (alongside the other business controllers Emma Price and Rebecca O’Malley).

He will also have sole responsibility for the Great North operation, which includes the newly centralised Newcastle and Carlisle offices.

ITV rebranded its regional sales division as the Business Development (Nations & Regions) team in January.

Spencer said: "Our new strategy and structure is now up and running and I’m looking forward to getting out and speaking to clients and agencies about what it means for them.

"Both appointments will play a really important part in transforming the way we service and add value to agencies and advertisers outside of London."
