Adrian Shaughnessy confirmed among speakers for Manchester Design Symposium

Renowned graphic designer and writer Adrian Shaughnessy will lead the speaker line-up at next month's Manchester Design Symposium.

Shaughnessy, who spent 15 years as creative director of design studio Intro, has written numerous books on design including the best-selling How to Be a Graphic Designer Without Losing your Soul.

Joining him on the panel will be Morag Myerscough, founder of Studio Myerscough and renowned for her work in the integration of graphics within architectural settings.

Jason Smith, whose Fontsmith company has designed typefaces for the likes of Channel 4, the Post Office and Uefa, has also been confirmed among the speakers.

And completing the line-up are Alex Bec, director of publishing platform It's Nice That and the agency INT Works, and designer Vera-Maria Glahn, co-founder od digital art and design studio Field.

Malcolm Garrett, known for his graphic design work for artists including Simple Minds and Duran Duran, will join the speakers for the event's panel discussion.

The event will be chaired by Professor David Crow, pro-vice-chancellor for internal communications and dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at Manchester Metropolitan University.
