Guinness invites Facebook fans to share a pint on St Patrick’s Day

Guinness has invited its Facebook fans to share a pint with their friends on St Patrick’s Day, as it aims to make a world record for the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

Nick Britton, senior brand manager for Guinness, said the campaign aims to capitalise on its Rugby Six Nations promotion and increase sales of Guinness in pubs.

Fans can make an online pledge on the Guinness’ website or Facebook to take part in the event.

Britton said: “St Patrick’s Day falls on the same day as the England v. Ireland Six Nations rugby match so licensees have the potential to drive sales even further by combining these celebrations and offer consumers a fantastic night out.”
