Huawei has appointed ad agency BBH as it aims to promote its range of own brand smartphones and tablets.

The two will now work on a multimillion campaign to promote Huawei’s ‘Ascend’ smartphones.

It has been said the Huawei account will be managed out of BBH offices in both London and Shanghai.

Mark Mitchinson, Huawei Device UK executive vice president, described the contract with BBH as a “milestone agreement” for the phone manufacturer.

He added: “There has been a great deal of work behind the scenes, over a number of months, and I am delighted at the appointment of BBH and incredibly excited about the birth of a new, differentiated and disruptive brand in the mobile market.”
