Danielle Tiedt, general manager of Microsoft’s Bing, has been appointed as vice-president of marketing for YouTube.

In her new role, Tiedt will be tasked with luring audiences to the new channels and making users think of YouTube in a different way.

Google said in a statement: “We are excited to have someone of the calibre of Danielle on board.

“She will play a pivotal role as we move forward into our next phase of growth.”

However, according to Seattle Times, Microsoft has said: "We can confirm that Microsoft made the decision to part ways with Danielle Tiedt, effective immediately. We don't comment on internal personnel issues, but we can say that the decision to part ways was not related to her interest in joining YouTube."
