Samsung launches official Chelsea FC app

Samsung has launched an official mobile app for Chelsea Football Club.

The Android/bada app was developed as part of Samsung's long-standing relationship with Chelsea - the electronics firm is the club's current sponsor.

Its key features include daily video content, live match stats and commentary and player profiles.

Fans that pay for a Chelsea TV subscription will get exclusive additional access to match highlights, live audio match commentary and premium clips.

The free app can be downloaded in 122 countries and until May 2012, the app will only be available exclusively on the Samsung Apps store.

Sunny Hwang, vice president and head of global sports marketing at Samsung Electronics, said: "This initiative is meaningful in that the sponsor and the club work together to bring the fans closer to the sports."
