Facebook rolls out verified accounts for celebrities
Facebook is set to launch verified accounts, with celebrities and high profile account holders able to prove their identity by providing official documentation.
It has been revealed that after the authenticity of the account is confirmed, the user will be able to more prominently display an alternate name, such as a nickname, on their page.
Currently Twitter has a verified account system, with a tick on a blue background appearing next to the account handle to show that it has been authenticated.
