Sun shining in London! Murdoch boasts in a tweet
"Miracles do happen! Sun shining in London." That was the tweet from Rupert Murdoch as he stunned the newspaper world with the news that the Sun on Sunday would launch THIS coming Sunday.
A coup for Murdoch
In another tweet he added, "Just for the record: Newscorp shares up 60c on news of Sun on Sunday. Highest for year."
There was no doubt that the super-fast replacement for the shuttered News of the World was a coup for the 80-year-old master.
The other titles in the market, who thought they might have until April to prepare, will no doubtless have been galvanised in to action. Details to follow!
