Marketing and communications agency Guerilla has won its bid to manage a campaign for the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network to encourage the use of public transport.

Newcastle agency Guerilla has prior experience in working with travel companies; it has previously been appointed for campaigns by travel brands including Arriva and Network One Ticketing.

The campaign itself aims to promote public transport use to people across West Yorkshire, by encouraging them to try public transport for one month in the hope of converting them to using it on a permanent basis.

A direct marketing campaign has already been used to contact businesses, where car-driving employees have been given the opportunity to apply for one of 450 free monthly travel passes.

The agency has claimed to have so far seen more than 2,500 applicants, making it the most successful marketing campaign ever used by the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network.
